Job Description A U.S. based company is hiring an embedded system design engineer to work from its Cairo Branch. The Embedded Systems Engineer will work directly with internal and external customers & suppliers in order to partake in product design, concept development, analytical validation, prototype and production electronic hardware and software for state-of-the-art products to be deployed across Africa and the MENA region.
Requirements:
Bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a closely related field, is a requirement for this position (A Master’s degree is a plus)
Knowledge of imperative programming languages such as C, C++, or similar.
3+ years of experience with the development of embedded systems including software, hardware, and tools.
Experience with 8-bit to 32-bit RISC and ARM processors.
Ability to write simple scripts and tools in languages such as Perl, Python, Ruby, or similar.
Knowledge of model-based design and development using MATLAB/Simulink or similar.
Understanding of common communications protocols (e.g. SPI, UART, I2C, USB), debugging practices (e.g. JTAG and associated gdb integrations), and basic electrical design principles
Product development engineering experience in an industry such as automotive, aerospace, or similar.
Knowledge and experience of PCB design for advanced controllers.
Experience with requirements management.
Experience developing technical specifications, test plans, test cases, and test reports.
System Engineering knowledge in areas such as Fault Tree Analysis, FMEA, test case definition, requirements definition is a plus.
Ability to communicate and work closely with other engineers, customers, and clients.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and often multi-tasking environment
Skilled in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project.
Ability to work independently or in team settings.
Good project management skills
Good communication skills
Ability to travel inside and outside of Egypt to meet other company teams and partners
