ABB is pleased to announce that the launch of a cooperation program with Ain Shams University (Credit Hours System) to offer a scholarship for full time 1st year students of Electrical/Mechanical students. The scholarships, offered by Jürgen Dormann Foundation (JDF) under ABB Group, aims at supporting talented students in the electrical field who might not have the means to support themselves for studying in ASU credit hours system
The ABB Jürgen Dormann Foundation for Engineering Education (JDF) provides scholarships to electrical/Mechanical engineering students around the world who can prove a high standard of academic achievement, but lack the financial support to be able to continue their studies. The foundation is named after Jürgen Dormann in recognition of his contribution as former Chairman and CEO of ABB. The scholarships
Students who receive scholarships will have the opportunity to participate in international conferences sponsored by ABB Group and be provided with help and vocational guidance in the learning process by ABB engineers in Egypt. However, the acceptance of the scholarship does not require the student to accept employment, if offered, by ABB after graduation.
“This initiative is intended to contribute to furthering the field of engineering and is a great opportunity for the scholars. There is no obligation on ABB to hire them once they qualify but we will monitor and support their development carefully,”

For this intake in 2017/18, the application is open to 1st year Electrical and Mechanical Engineering (Mainstream) students looking for a scholarship in any of the following Credit Hour Programs: Energy, Mechatronics, Software, Manufacturing and Communications.

- are granted for one full-year (in the first academic year). ABB will take part in an annual review of the student’s performance which will determine whether the scholarship is continued.
