If you made it to this page, then you must be a Freshman / Sophomore student at ASU Commerce getting ready for Fall 2020. In this coming semester, we will be offering this "elective" course where Commerce students will be joined by other students from other faculties in ASU, to enrich the class and make it more interdisciplinary. Throughout the semester, we will be taking the class participants on a journey to change their mindset and become more innovative and entrepreneurial. Students will be working together in teams to discover themselves, their talents and their super powers, and we will help them translate those skills into ideas and then into business ventures (startups) or social ventures (NGOs). Those who finish the course and excel, will be given an opportunity to join iHub pre-Incubator program to further support them in developing their ventures.
By the end of the semester, students who take the course should be able to:
  1. Show an understanding of who entrepreneurs are and the role of the entrepreneur in the new venture process
  2. Show an understanding of how entrepreneurs identify, evaluate and shape business opportunities, including creative techniques such as brainstorming
  3. Apply the lean start up approach
  4. Show an understanding of what a business model is, its importance to the success of a start-up, including how to attract the resources needed to start, grow and scale up a business
  5. Show an awareness of alternative entrepreneurial pathways
  6. Show an understanding of why businesses fail
If you are interested in applying to this course, please fill in the form below with all your info. You will then be sent an email with instructions for an online test that will be used to determine those who are selected for the course.
