Course Description:
The objective of this activity is to collect unused stuff that include mechanical parts and mechanisms to study them. Announcements should be made to the faculty members to collect their old, unneeded appliances. Each group should disassemble its mechanism, make the assembly drawings, and then re-assemble it (if possible). Extra activities include material selection of the components, and preparation of operation sheets.

  • Draw assembly drawings for a mechanism.
  • Select proper material for different components
  • Assemble components to a mechanism.

Time Plan
  • 2 contact hours / week : with staff supervision
  • 5 hours / week : field work (team work designs / buying material / manufacturing components)
  • 1 hours / week: student working on his own
