Dr. Yomna Sadek
Class FULL
Course Description:
The objective of this activity is to collect unused stuff that include mechanical parts and mechanisms to study them. Announcements should be made to the faculty members to collect their old, unneeded appliances. The data of the appliances should be archived for the sake of sorting…etc. Groups of students are assigned to the appliances. Each group should disassemble its mechanism, make the assembly drawings, and then re-assemble it (if possible). Extra activities include material selection of the components, and preparation of operation sheets.

Objectives
By the end of this project, the student should be able to:
  • Recognize mechanisms.
  • Collect required data for each appliance
  • Archive data
  • Disassemble mechanisms in a proper way
  • Draw assembly drawings for a mechanism.
  • Select proper material for different components
  • Assemble components to a mechanism.

Time Plan
  • 2 contact hours / week : with staff supervision
  • 5 hours / week : field work (team work designs / buying material / manufacturing components)
  • 1 hours / week: student working on his own
