Seminar Abstract:
Artificial Intelligence (AI) has proliferated and transformed many aspects of our life. AI has enabled a new set of applications and capabilities for smart devices, healthcare, sport, autonomous vehicles and others.
This seminar gives an overview of the latest AI trends and applications in industry. We will discuss the technological challenges faced by the machine learning techniques as well as opportunities for innovation. We will also discuss the increasing demand, in the current job market, for new skill sets in response to the new transformation.
About the Speaker:
Iman Saleh, PhD, is a research scientist at Intel working on autonomous vehicles. She received her Ph.D. degree in 2012, from the Computer Science department at Virginia Tech. She also holds a Master degree in Computer Science from Alexandria University, Egypt, and, a Master degree in Software Engineering from Virginia Tech. Dr. Saleh has over 30 technical publications in the areas of formal methods, data technologies and privacy-preserving data mining as well as a published book on formalizing data-centric applications. Her research interests include software engineering, machine learning, formal methods, web services, and privacy.
