iCamp'16 Program Description
The Innovation Camp is a three phase fun summer Activity Camp focused on pushing your innovative soul to shine. In this three month camp, you will be driven to form an interdisciplinary team, guided to do a set of advanced technology based projects, and participate in small fun contests. We focus in helping you strengthen your design, hands-on engineering, project management, marketing, and business skills.
In the first phase, all participants in their teams will race time to a coming the same project. In the second phase, you will put your heads together to add innovative features to your project. You will then be given the chance to attend various hands on cash courses in diverse technology, project management , design and business. After which, in the third phase, you will start ideating to settle on the product or service that your team (startup) will build. In phase three, you will be working together to finalize implementing your prototype, creating your business plan and putting your marketing plan to work. During this journey, you will have the support of many experienced project managers, scientists, engineers, marketing gurus and business professionals.
In addition to the ton of fun you will have, the countless sleepless nights you will spend, the exciting thrill you will face while creating your startup, you can also win valuable cash prizes and have the ability to show the world how innovative you are. iCamp was interesting career changing experience for thousands of your colleagues in the past years, and we hope it will be for you. This is open to all undergrads from the disciplines of Engineering, Sciences, Business, Design and Computer Science.

The theme this year is "Internet of Everything". As you are aware, communication , hardware and sensor technologies are getting very sophisticated. We are entering an Era, "everything" will be connected. Dishwashers, cars, furniture, buildings, pets, farms, classes will be equipped with tons of sensors, connected to the internet, streaming out data to be analyzed and used to make private or collective decisions for the good of the owners or society. There are tons of applications out there, and a truly interdisciplinary is needed to group together and push their idea to success. Projects within theme can include building smart connected gadgets, security add-ons, software platforms to collect and analyze data(big data analytics), front end portals to display this data and interact with users, machine learning platforms to use the data to predict forecasts and take cations , ....etc. These gadgets will affect every sector in life: agriculture, industry, financial sector, transportation, health, education, architecture, constructions, tourism, pharma, governance, security, ...etc
You will be working hard to turn your project idea into reality under the supervision and mentorship of powerful mentors (industry professionals, professors and TAs) that will guide you through your project. The different components/projects within this theme targets students from both the mainstream and CHEP programs that are studying the following fields:
What you will learn?
This program is a guided self-learning training. When you complete this program you should have been exposed to:
200 EGP (to be returned to you when you complete the training till the end).
Note that teams completing till the end will also be partially reimbursed for components they will buy for their implemented projects.
All projects in this program will be evaluated by the mentoring staff and the best projects will be awarded valuable prizes from our sponsors. The prizes will be announced soon.
