Game Development Track

​Overview


How to apply?
fill in the following form before 30/6/2020 and wait for the instructions on your email:
Computer Track Form
  
Students will be grouped into teams, each of 4-5 members.

​
Concepts and Introduction:
- Introduction to 3D concepts.
- Introduction to game engines and Unity3D.
Making the Game - Part 1:
- Introduction to Virtual Reality.
- Placing augmented reality elements and testing on mobile camera.
- Make simple interactive programming controls (arrows and action buttons).
Making the Game - Part 2:
- Programming of fighting characters and animations.
- Programming of health bars and game over conditions.
- Programming of computer player.
- Programming of placing content under augmented reality scene.
Making the Game - Part 3:
- Convert the scene to multiplayer scene using Photon multiplayer library.
- Programming of rooms auto-create and join.
- Instantiate players in multiplayer rooms.
- Sync movements and animations between players.

Who could join?

Orientation Session
Registration
Phase 1 (2 weeks)
Team members can belong to different faculties. Students must have the following prerequisites:
  • Basic knowledge of OOP concepts
  • Install Unity3D 2019.4 LTS
  • Install Visual Studio (Community comes with Unity installer)
  • Create accounts at Vuforia website as they are going to use during the sessions
  • (Hardware requirements) Minimum 8 GB RAM, mic, and external mouse
​Presented by Eng. Ahmed Fawzy, software engineer at AN Games Studio.
  • Students register via Google form.
  • Mentors filter the applications and choose 50 students based on answers to simple questions and academic grade.
  • Announce names of accepted applicants.

​​Videos + Online meetings
  • Three times a week, students will watch a video, practice the new content, then join an online support session (via Microsoft Teams) led by the mentors to ask them regarding technical problems and discuss their issues.
  • By the end of the first week, teams should be formed.

Computer Science Tracks Form
 
  •  Mentors provide support to the teams via Microsoft Teams.
  • Students work on the projects on their own.
  • ​Live demo of projects in front of judges.
  • Announcement of top 3 projects.
