iLab'15 Internship @ Mogassam
What you will be working on?
Our current 3D printer adopts the SLA technology to create 3D structures, where resin (plastic liquid) is cured using UV rays. Some of the interns of this project will work to create three dimensional structures with embedded electronic circuits. This will disrupt the way electronic circuits are currently being manufactured as it will remove the constrain of tailoring product designs to fit printed circuit board (PCB). We will work on 1) developing our existing 3D printers mechanically to create those 3D PCBs and 2) develop a software program that designs 3D PCBs integrated with mechanical structures. Another intern group will be part of the team working on 3D printed Prosthetic limbs. The traditional manufacturing methods of lower prosthetic limbs provide amputees with unfitted prosthesis which cause skin irritation, severe pains and it may cause paralysis on the long term. This project is about offering solution for this problem by using 3D scanning and 3D printing in the manufacturing process. Students will be working on a system that will facilitate:
