Emerging Technologies Workshop
The course spans more than 48 hours over 4 Weeks .
Date: From Saturday 29th of June till Wednesday 3rd of July. Location: iHub Faculty of Engineering, ASU CHEP Training Credit: 4 weeks Cost: 2 Credit Hours Description: In this workshop, experts from Dell Technologies will guide you to have a deeper look into the emerging technologies. The workshop will go through basics of Internet of things and its applications, introduction to Blockchain, data analytics, visualization and what’s the meaning of a software defined Data center. All this will include hands-on experience that will let you dig in each topic. And finally, we will conclude with a Project Management session where you will learn how to plan for your graduation project and the benefits of engaging with Dell Technologies.
Day1: IoT Session. Session Abstract: Ever thought of a life where you could just command your home appliances to work as you need just by using your smartphone and your voice? Gone are the days where you have to be a billionaire to have an automated house which is voice activated. In this session, I’m going to show you how you can control your electronic appliances like T.V, fans, lights, etc. over the LAN/WAN with your mobile and that's under a budget of $20. Day2: Session 1 Artificial intelligence (AI) Session Abstract: “I’ll be back” the Iconic quote of Arnold Schwarzenegger in the Terminator has sparked humanity’s obsession about Artificial intelligence but as much as our imagination run wild with the SCiFi movies of Hollywood in the world we live today there are a lot of applications that is powered by Artificial intelligence. In this session, I’m going to give you an Overview about Artificial intelligence and Machine learning, Current real word applications and Available resources to learn and apply Machine learning in your graduation project. Session 2 Introduction to Blockchain Session Abstract: Have you ever thought about a perfect program that would always run if a specific set of conditions are met, a program that need no administration and need no maintenance? This is not a fantasy any more as the Blockchain technology does just that. In this session, I’m going to give you an Overview about Blockchain and Smart contracts, Current real word applications and Available resources to learn and apply those concepts in your graduation project. Day3: Data analytics Session Abstract: The online world we live in today is generating an unthinkable amount of data every second IDC forecast that by 2020 there will be around 40 trillion gigabytes of data to put it in perspective there were only 2.4 trillion gigabytes of data in 2012 and as this data continues to grow it become one of the most valuable raw materials of the future. In this session, I’m going to give you an Overview about Big data and Data analytics, Current real word case studies and Available resources to learn and apply those concepts in your graduation project. Day4: Introduction to Virtualization and Software defined datacenter Session Abstract: We use different internet services in our everyday routine, we share a photo on Instagram, tweet on tweeter and watch our favorite series on Netflix, without giving much thought on how this magic is done on the back ground. In this session, I’m going to give you an Overview about IT infrastructure, Virtualization and Software defined datacenter that revolutionized the way web services and applications are consumed, Current real word case studies and Available resources to learn and apply those concepts in your graduation project. Day5: Session 1 Project Management Session Abstract: Why do we need project management, Project management concepts How to use apply Project management concepts on your graduation project Session 2 Envision the future Session Abstract: Overview about Envision the future graduation project competition Competition phases and prize Tips and tricks on how to win |
