Interdisciplinary Graduation Project (iGP)

What is iGP?

iGP is an Interdisciplinary Graduation project that is held on an annual basis for senior undergrads. Conventional stand-alone departmental GPs have been held since universities began and are still going on. The difference with iGPs is that it is uniting the efforts of many of these stand-alone GPs to be towards ONE common product. Each year, one or more visionary engineering products will be selected. A business plan will be created for each, and each product will be divided into smaller components that will each become an iGP module. The goal is to integrate all of these modules successfully into a complete working prototype.
To know more about the iGP Projects this year, please click here.

Why join an iGP?

  • Learn to work in an interdisciplinary team (just like in the real world) where you be in a team with students from different departments led by professors from different departments
  • Get your iGP module funded,. Funding is obtained from many industry partners and governmental funding agencies because they believe in the full final product. We take care of all logistics leaving you to focus on your technical work. Funding ranges between 10,000-75,000 EGP per iGP module
  • Learn to design your part while keeping in mind how you will interface with others who will integrate their parts at the end
  • Gain more exposure to system level design
  • Get exposed to our industry partners that are continuously looking for bright talents to hire
  • Participate in the many workshops that we hold to improve your soft skills, CV writing skills, project management skills, ...etc
  • Access to our career advising team
  • More visibility and media exposure for the university and your work
