iCamp'17 Program DescriptionObjective
The Innovation Camp is a three-phase fun summer Activity Camp focused on pushing your innovative soul to shine. In this three-month camp, you will be driven to form an interdisciplinary team, guided to do a set of advanced technologies based projects, and participate in small fun contests. We focus in helping you strengthen your design, hands-on engineering, project management, marketing, and business skills. There will be 3 separate tracks along the 1st & 2nd phase: 1- Engineering, includes 3 sub-tracks: A. Electromechanical (Electrical, mechanical, CS & any relevant field) B. Architecture C. Civil 2- Pharma (Medical related Field Undergrades) 3- Business students (any major/department). This year, the summer camp will be settled in 3 iHub Branches in 3 different governorates:
1- Ain shams University 2- Cairo University 3- Alexandria University 4- El Minia University In the first phase, all participants in their teams will race time to a coming the same project. In the second phase, you will put your heads together to add innovative features to your project. You will then be given the chance to attend various hands on cash courses in diverse technology, project management, design, and business. After which, in the third phase, all the participants from the 3 main tracks will integrate together to form interdisciplinary where you will start ideating to settle on the product or service that your team (startup) will build. In phase three, you will be working together to finalize implementing your prototype, creating your business plan, and putting your marketing plan to work. During this journey, you will have the support of many experienced project managers, scientists, engineers, marketing gurus and business professionals. In addition to the ton of fun you will have, the countless sleepless nights you will spend, the exciting thrill you will face while creating your startup, you can also win valuable cash prizes and can show the world how innovative you are. iCamp was interesting career changing experience for thousands of your colleagues in the past years, and we hope it will be for you. This is open to all undergrads from the disciplines of Engineering, Sciences, Pharma (medical related fields), Business, Design, and Computer Science.
You will be working hard to turn your project idea into reality under the supervision and mentorship of powerful mentors (industry professionals, professors, and TAs) that will guide you through your project. The different components/projects within this theme targets students from both the mainstream and CHEP programs that are studying the following fields:

This program is a guided self-learning training. When you complete this program you should have been exposed to: • Ideation and Idea Management • System level design • System Integration and Component Manufacturing • Business Proposals • Marketing • Team Work • Feasibility Study (Business students) • Healthcare and Pharmaceutical Management, Legalization & Pharmacy Law (Pharma Track) • Understanding how to HAVE FUN while working very hard :) Fees
200 EGP (to be returned to you when you complete the camp till the end). Note that teams completing till the end will also be partially reimbursed for components they will buy for their implemented projects. Prizes/Awards
All projects in this program will be evaluated by the mentoring staff and the best projects will be awarded valuable prizes from our sponsors. The prizes will be announced soon. ASU-CHEP students will gain 4 weeks of training certificate but they must pay the training fees announced by the CHEP admin. Eligibility
1. Undergraduate student in an Egyptian University. 2. This program mainly targets Freshmen and sophomore students (1st & 2nd year), however junior and Senior 1 (3rd & 4th year) students are also welcome. 3. Have a passion to learn and willing to dedicate 20 hours per week for 12 weeks, and attend all scheduled meetings during this period. |
